Chrissy Kamanga, a mother of 3 daughters, the eldest being 22 and the youngest and last born is 5 years old is 37 years old. Chrissy is being cared for by her husband; Wisted Simbi, 44 years old. He said that his wife has been on ART for more than 5 years now. During the time, I accepted her condition and promised to take care of her. Here I support my in-law ( her sister) to shift, feed , wash or taking her to the bathing room. So, we relieve each other of such duties daily. “My wife complained of backache and headache. We went to Tengani Health Centre where the in-charge refereed us here. But by that time, she couldn’t walk or talk. They welcomed us well and all the tests were done.” “There is great improvement now because she can talk though could still not sit on her own.” Chrissy is an expert client at Tengani health center under Partners in Hope, a local nongovernmental organization. She helps in tracing ART defaulter clients. All people know that she is HIV positive and this is not a new thing in our community. © Luca Sola 2017
